Organised by Temasek Polytechnic, this event is a robotic car racing competition, in which participants design and programme their own Robo-racers, and race them around a given track to clock the fastest lap time. The robots are fully autonomous, which means there is no human intervention during the race; the Robo-racers navigate themselves around the track using sensors.
In the process, particpants get to learn about the latest robotics technology, including hardware design and software programming.
Through this annual event, Temasek Polytechnic aims to introduce today's youths to the exciting world of robotics.
The competition is open to students from all secondary schools, JCs, and ITEs in Singapore.
The RP-NEC, RFID@NEC Competency Centre is a collaboration between Republic Polytechnic and NEC Asia. The competency Centre aims to spearhead the development of applications for RFID technologies within the manufacturing, logistics, hospitality and retail sectors in Singapore.
The Career Compass 2008 aims to give students a better understanding of the opportunities in the current and future job market. Students can make use of this information when choosing what courses to pursue in the universities, polytechnics and ITEs. They can also make informed career choices when they enter the workforce.
Land Transport Authority (LTA) and the 5 polytechnics have a partnership since 1999 to provide learning opportunities for polytechnic students where they tackle real-life land transport engineering challenges for their final year projects. A total of 23 projects have been submitted for the Collaboration this year and seven of which comes from RP, School of Engineering. RP will be hosting the 10th Land Transport Authority and Polytechnics Collaboration Presentation-cum-Exhibition on 16th Jan 07.
