Inspired for Success

Wee Zihuan is a young man on the fast track to success. The 21-year old, who graduated with a Diploma in Computer Engineering in 2004, is the Managing Director of Inspirion Creations, a software solutions company he set up with four friends in the final year of his diploma course.

One of the major projects that his company has undertaken includes developing an Enterprise Resource Planning system for a music company, Swee Lee Pte Ltd. His company has also been promised a royalty from sales made by the company.

But the zealous entrepreneur is not resting on his laurels, and he is hoping to mould his company into a successful global business enterprise within a decade. He said: “I don’t want to have to worry about money when I’m 35.”

With his talent and industry, this goal does not seem unrealistic. Zihuan won the Lee Kuan Yew gold medal for his academic excellence at Temasek Polytechnic, and also earned himself a Microsoft CAD.NET certification by attending night classes during his diploma course.

Asked for the secret of his success, a modest Zihuan gave credit to his alma mater: “The problem-based learning approach at Temasek Polytechnic has taught me to be resourceful and independent in my thinking, and to apply the skills I have learnt effectively. These will certainly help me in my working life.”
